Audit Schedule access by scope
We are introducing an update to how access to Audit Schedules works in Radar.
This change is based on customer feedback to ensure that users only see and manage schedules relevant to the locations or regions included within their assigned scope.
This article is being shared in advance to help you understand the change and prepare your organisation.
What is changing?
Users will still need the relevant Audit Schedule permissions. However, their role scope will also determine which schedules they can view and manage.
Location scope
Users with location level scope will only see schedules that include locations within their assigned scope.
For example, a user scoped to Location A will only see schedules for Location A. If a schedule also includes another location outside their scope, they will not be able to see or manage that schedule.
Region scope
Users with region level scope will only see schedules where every location is within their assigned region.
For example, a user scoped to Region A will only see schedules containing locations within Region A. If a schedule includes a location outside Region A, the entire schedule will be hidden from them.
Schedules containing locations outside a user’s scope will only be visible to users with organisation level scope.
Organisation scope
Users with organisation level scope will continue to see and manage all Audit Schedules across the organisation.
Creating and editing schedules
When creating or editing a schedule, users will only be able to select locations within their assigned scope.
This means:
- Location scoped users can select locations within their assigned locations.
- Region scoped users can select locations within their assigned region.
- Organisation scoped users can select locations across the organisation.
Users will not be able to create or update schedules using locations outside their scope.
What happens to existing schedules?
Existing schedules and audits will remain in place.
However, once this change is introduced, some users may no longer be able to view or manage existing schedules that include locations outside their scope.
These schedules may need to be managed by a user with organisation-level scope or reviewed as part of your organisation’s scheduling structure.
How can you prepare?
Before the change is released, we recommend reviewing:
- Who currently creates and manages Audit Schedules.
- Which schedules cover multiple locations or regions.
- Whether any users need to manage schedules outside their current scope.
- Whether users have the correct Audit Schedule permissions.
- Whether users’ role scopes need to be updated.
You may need to review user permissions and scopes to ensure they can continue creating and managing the schedules they need.
We will confirm the final release date and provide further updates as the change progresses.
