Save Templates in Digital Consent
Save Templates lets clinicians save a consent form they use regularly. They can then preview and reuse it when creating another consent form, instead of starting from scratch.
This can save time, reduce repeated data entry and give clinicians a consistent starting point for common procedures.
What a template can include
A saved template can include:
- A template name and optional description.
- The main procedure or procedures.
- Any additional procedures.
- Changes made to the Key Benefits content.
What they do not include:
- Laterality
- Patient notes
- Risk Personalisation
Templates save the form setup, not anything patient specific.
They are intended to provide a useful starting point for a new consent form.
How to use Templates
Save a template
While creating a consent form, select the procedures and update the Key Benefits content if needed. Then choose Save as Template, enter a name and save it.
You can also save a template from an existing consent form. This makes it easier to share a useful consent setup with other users in your organisation.
Preview a template
Before using a template, preview it to check the procedures and supporting information. You can return to the template list or continue and use the template.
Use a template
When you start a new consent form, choose a saved template from the list. The saved setup will be loaded into the consent workflow. You can then review the details, including laterality, before completing the form.
If only a small amount of checking is needed, Skip to Summary can help you move through the form more quickly.
Manage your templates
To review or remove saved templates, open your profile and go to My Templates. You can preview templates or delete ones that are no longer useful.
Choosing a template
Templates are shown in a searchable list. The most frequently used templates appear first, and you can search by template name or sort the list to find the right one.
Things to remember
-
A template is a starting point, not a replacement for clinical review.
-
Always check that the template is suitable for the patient and procedure.
-
If you replace a template, the previous version is overwritten.
-
Template options are available only when the feature has been enabled by your organisation.
