Multi‑Factor Authentication (MFA)

Multi‑Factor Authentication (MFA) adds an extra layer of security to your Radar Healthcare account. When MFA is enabled for your account, you will be asked for a one‑time code from an authenticator app in addition to your password when signing in.

Before you start

  • MFA must be enabled for your account by a system administrator.
  • You will need a supported authenticator app installed on a mobile device (for example Microsoft Authenticator, Google Authenticator, or Authy).
  • If you are unsure whether MFA is enabled for you, contact your system administrator.

Setting up your authenticator

After an administrator enables MFA for your account you can set up your authenticator from your account settings.

Access the setup screen

  1. Open My Account → Account Settings.
  2. Locate the Authenticator section.
  3. Select Manage authenticator.

Setup authenticator screen

The setup screen shows:

  • A QR code to scan with your authenticator app.
  • A manual setup code (for use if you cannot scan the QR code).
  • A field to enter a 6‑digit verification code from your authenticator app.
  • A Register authenticator button to complete setup.

Completing setup

  1. Open your authenticator app on your device.
  2. Add a new account in the app.
  3. Scan the QR code shown on screen, or enter the manual setup code if you cannot scan.
  4. Enter the 6‑digit code generated by the authenticator app into the verification field.
  5. Select Register authenticator.
If the code is valid
  • MFA is enabled for your account.
  • You will be shown five one‑time backup codes. Each backup code can be used once and will not be displayed again.
  • Store these backup codes somewhere safe (for example, in a password manager).
  • Select Done to return to Account Settings.
If the code is invalid

You will see the message “Invalid code”. Wait for the authenticator app to generate the next code (codes typically refresh every 30 seconds), then enter the latest code and try again.

Signing in with MFA enabled

Sign‑in steps

  1. Enter your email address and password on the sign‑in page.
  2. When prompted, open your authenticator app and enter the current 6‑digit code.
  3. Select Sign in.

Sign‑in outcomes

  • Valid code — you are signed in successfully.
  • Invalid code — you will see “Invalid code”. Try the latest code from your authenticator app.
  • If you do not have an authenticator set up, sign‑in operates as normal without an additional code.

Using backup codes

Backup codes are for use when you no longer have access to your authenticator device.

Signing in with a backup code

  1. On the sign‑in screen enter one of your unused backup codes instead of the authenticator code.
If the backup code is valid

A confirmation message will appear and you will be given two choices:

  • Yes, I want to set up a new authenticator now
    • You are signed in successfully.
    • Your previous authenticator is removed.
    • You are taken directly to the Setup Authenticator screen to register a new device.
  • No, I want to remove the authenticator and set up later
    • You are signed in successfully.
    • Your authenticator is removed from the account.
    • MFA will not be required until you set it up again.

Removing your authenticator

You may need to remove the authenticator when changing devices or after an access reset.

How to remove

  1. Go to My Account → Account Settings → Manage authenticator.
  2. Select Remove authenticator.

Confirmation

A confirmation dialog will ask: “Remove authenticator? Are you sure you want to remove the authenticator?” Available actions:

  • Cancel — no changes are made.
  • Remove authenticator — MFA is removed from your account.

After removal you will see “Authenticator removed successfully” and be returned to your account page. You can set up a new authenticator at any time.

Help and support

  • If you lose both your authenticator device and your backup codes, contact Radar Healthcare Support for help regaining access to your account.
  • For administrator guidance, permissions, limits and next phases see: Multi‑Factor Authentication (MFA) – Administration.

Quick reference

  • Authenticator apps supported: Microsoft Authenticator, Google Authenticator, Authy (check with your admin for organisation policy).
  • Authenticator codes refresh typically every 30 seconds — always use the most recent code.
  • Backup codes are single‑use and are not shown again — store them securely.
